A few preliminaries:

"Where Is Blueville?"

No, it's not the Blueville that's in West Virginia!

It's just a place- name I manufactured to represent a progressive haven -- a spot promoting the values outlined in the progressive manifesto John Halpin and Ruy Teieira penned just over four years ago: freedom, opportunity, responsibility and cooperation.  I hope to hold true to those values in critiquing our politics, culture and media, and do so in a way that is both useful and entertaining. I welcome you holding me to those standards.


"Who Am I? Why Am I Here?"

No, I'm not Adm. James Stockwell!

This is the start of a new adventure for me. I've been blogging at Hackwhackers for over ten years with my twin brother. We're both lifelong progressive Democrats and residents of the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC., who retired =cough= mumble mumble =cough= years ago. He's going to continue to carry the Hackwhackers flag in my absence.

My hope, as I previewed above, is to do my small part in continuing to promote progressive values, which means resisting the malignant regime of Donald Trump and the dystopian Republican agenda.

I made a lot of friends in the blogosphere in my former incarnation, and I hope to continue to do the same here at The Blueville Times. If you like what you see, please spread the word.
